Ricepaper Magazine would like to congratulate Jillian Tamaki, This One Summer, for earning the Governor General Literary Awards in the Children’s Literature – Illustration category; and her cousin Mariko Tamaki, who also received acknowledgement for This One Summer in the Children’s Literature – Text.

In 2008, Mariko was also nominated for Skim, the Tamaki’s first graphic novel collaboration.
