Thank you all for attending and celebrating Ricepaper’s 15th Anniversary Dinner at Foo’s Ho Ho. We appreciate your ongoing patronage and support – more events to come in 2011!

Sid Chow Tan, media activist and long-time Ricepaper supporter was in attendance at this landmark occasion. He provided this video and description:

Ricepaper magazine celebrated its 15th anniversary at Foo’s Ho Ho Restaurant on Saturday, December 11, 2010. The celebration was organized by tireless Ricepaper, Asian Canadian Writers’ Workshop and Friends of Foo’s Ho Ho volunteers and supporters.Ricepaper is Canada’s only nationally-distributed literary magazine devoted to showcasing Asian Canadian artists, writers, performers and innovators. For 15 years, Ricepaper has published important work for and about Asian Canadian community luminaries while also providing opportunities for emerging talent to publish their work.

Tetsuro Shigematsu and Todd Wong co-hosted as Tradewind Books (publishers Michael Katz and Carol Frank) and writer/poet Evelyn Lau were honoured for community building.

Thanks to Jim Wong-Chu, Jacqueline Young (Friends of Foo’s Ho Ho) and all our volunteers.

I’ve grown up eating Chinese food of all kinds, but never had anything like I did at Foo’s Ho Ho restaurant. Fun event and the food was really good…
