Our double issue launch party last weekend in the Historic Joy Kogawa House was a success! Carrie Calvo, Michelle Sylliboy, Russell Wallace, Wanda John Kehewin, Elaine Woo and Jonina Kirton, who were published in our special Aboriginal and Asian Canadian issue, did readings of their work and shared more background of what their work is about and why it’s important to them. It was a great opportunity for the attendees to get a closer look at our amazing writers and their work which Ricepaper has published.
The event also coincided with the opening reception for the Text/Textiles exhibit, featuring collections from international textile artists. This charming exhibit of beautiful and inspirational works along with great writers giving personal readings was a lovely combination. A great afternoon all around.
