Olivia Chow announced Thursday that she is officially launching her campaign to become mayor of Toronto after resigning as MP for Trinity-Spadina on Wednesday. The former Toronto city councillor made the announcement in St. James Town, a working-class Toronto neighbourhood she grew up in, saying, “We need a new mayor for a better city and I’m here to apply for the job.”
