Originally from Shanghai, Shuyue He is an aspiring journalist, translator, and political activist. She currently resides in Montréal where she is pursuing a BA Honors degree in Philosophy and History. Her research interests focus on comparative studies of Chinese and Western Philosophy, policy reform in higher education institutes, and historical underpinnings of today’s China. At Ricepaper, she is in charge of a project focusing on the impact of overseas education on forming a new Chinese identity. After graduation, she intends to go to the U.S or France for graduate school in Public Policy and Chinese studies, where she will gain further experience in relevant fields. She speaks English, Chinese Mandarin, and French.
