What does it mean to orient yourself — in a place, in a moment, in your body, or about others?
To be oriented can mean finding direction, discovering purpose, or simply standing still and locating yourself in an unfamiliar world. It can be the beginning of a journey, the act of looking around, or a lifelong practice of re-alignment.
For our upcoming issue, we invite submissions on the theme “Orientation.” We welcome interpretations in all forms: poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, essays, visual art, and hybrid work. Show us moments of arrival or disorientation, maps and misdirections, first days and fresh starts, rituals of welcome and belonging.
Queries and submissions can be sent to submissions@ricepapermagazine.ca
Deadline closes June 30, 2025.
