It’s been 11 days since the destructive earthquake in Japan. We at Ricepaper, like many people around the world, are at a loss for words at the devastation amounting from the earthquake. We applaud the many Canadians who have contributed to the relief efforts in Japan and offer our sympathies to those who have been affected by this tragedy. Please see below to see how you can help our friends in Japan (If you know of any other organization or event to be added to this list, please let us know).

About Japan Love: The BC Japan Earthquake Relief Fund (BC-JERF) is a coalition of volunteers from the Japanese Canadian community whose purpose is to “vet and act as an organizational hub for BC communities’ fundraising efforts and to facilitate the delivery of this financial aid to the affected people in Japan.” Funds raised through BC-JERF-endorsed campaigns and events will be donated in full to reputable charities operating on the ground in Japan, such as the Japanese Red Cross. Check here for a calendar of fundraising events throughout Vancouver and BC.
*NOTE: This is not a registered charity, if you wish to make a donation and receive a tax receipt, please do so directly to Red Cross.
